Mark it, then say what to change
Mark a paragraph, hold the key, say “make this half as long.” Reeve rewrites what you selected.
Voice dictation for Mac · pay once
Hold one key, say it, let go. Reeve writes it where your cursor is, cleaned up and shaped for the app you’re in. $19 once, no subscription. Your AI usage is billed by the provider you choose, usually a dollar or two a month.
How it started
Our team dictated everything into an AI chat, because it understood us better than the built‑in dictation. Then came the same five steps, every single time.
So we built one key
Reeve listens while you hold the key. When you let go, the finished text appears right where you were typing. The ums drop out, the commas show up, and there is nothing to copy.
It knows where you are
we shipped it today it took eleven weeks and honestly the lesson is that scope is a choice
Reeve checks which app and window you’re in before it writes a word. You can change the rules for any app.
Pay for your words, not a plan
Every dictation app we tried charged a monthly fee, whether we said ten words or ten thousand. Underneath, they all pay an AI service by the second. Reeve lets you plug in your own key and pay that service directly, at their price. We add nothing on top.
A fifteen‑second dictation costs about $0.0014. Fifty a day, every working day, comes to roughly $1.50 a month.
Month 24
You’ve kept $305.
Usage at fifty dictations a day. Talk less, pay less.
Six months in the making
We’ve spent the last half year building Reeve and using it for real work: emails, code, client notes, long rambling voice memos. These are the things that came out of it.
Mark a paragraph, hold the key, say “make this half as long.” Reeve rewrites what you selected.
Audio is sent in slices while you’re still talking, so a long dictation arrives seconds after you stop.
Client names, product names, in‑house jargon. Fix a word once and Reeve keeps your version next time.
Put your AirPods in while you talk. Reeve keeps recording on the new mic and your music keeps sounding like music.
Every result also goes to your clipboard, so a window that steals focus can’t eat what you just said.
Say “Thursday at two… no, three” and the page says three.
Price
One payment, no renewal date to forget about. Your AI usage is billed by the provider you choose, at their price.
Switching over
Buy Reeve, then reply to your receipt with a screenshot of your old plan. We send money back, less the card fee. How it works.
macOS 14 or later, Apple Silicon. The download and your licence key appear right after payment. Windows is in progress.
You create a key with an AI provider (OpenAI or ElevenLabs today) and paste it into Reeve once. The provider bills you for what you dictate, usually a dollar or two a month. Reeve never sits in the middle of that bill.
From your Mac straight to the provider you picked, under your own key. Reeve keeps the audio only for the length of one dictation and stores no recordings. No Reeve server ever sees your voice or your text. The privacy page has the details.
Mail, Slack, docs, the browser, code editors and the terminal. If a field refuses text, the result is still on your clipboard.
Yes, on two Macs at a time. Deactivate one in Reeve’s Settings to move it to a third.
It’s for paid dictation apps only. After buying, reply to your Stripe receipt with a screenshot or invoice showing your plan and how long you’ve had it. We refund $5 or $10 depending on how long you paid, minus the card processing fee.
